Apple Kitchen Decorating Ideas: Create Simple Vignettes

Simple and easy apple kitchen decorating ideas include creating vignettes. These are not difficult to achieve when you make use of out-of-the-way spaces, like ends of your counter tops, side tables and corners. Vignettes are just groupings of a few items together. So you can easily create apple vignettes in your kitchen.

Here is an example from Better Homes and Garden that shows several vignettes. In the foreground you can see a grouping of items together on the corner of the counter. The picture shows a vase with red flowers and coffee cups grouped together. But look also on the window sill. You see even more places to add vignettes. It’s the accessories that will help bring your kitchen theme to life.

Creating Simple VignettesHere is another example to show you how to use otherwise unused space to add to your apple kitchen decorating. Make use of empty space above kitchen cabinets.  Even remove cabinet doors to show off your apple-themed dishes. Bowls, pitchers, mugs that are decorated with apples are both useful and decorative. They will show up well in an open cabinet and still be handy for your use.

In this example, several cabinets become shelf sets on either side of the window. Then look at all the glass bottles that sit above the cabinets. These are examples of using different kinds of space.

Creating Apple Theme Vignettes

Decorating vignettes are simply a small grouping of items. Usually working with odd numbers, like 3 items, work best. Place the apple decor items in a circle or triangle arrangement. This gives a bit of depth to your vignette group.

Lining up your decor items in a line can also work. It may be the best way make use of out-of-the-way space. Especially if you have other groupings that are shaped into circles or triangles. Some spaces can only fit a straight line up.

Don’t be afraid to show off those accent pieces that make your apple kitchen so charming. It’s what you love about your kitchen, that great apple look. So be bold in your decorating ideas, without going crazy with a full re-do. Just add simple and easy vignettes.

    Ohhhh, I love the color scheme of the first kitchen! It’s apple green and apple red mixed! What a treat for the eyes. I agree, the vignettes are the easiest way to decorate with a theme like apple kitchens. Great advice!
